Trust Model

A chain of Trust between the Sender of a Message and the Recipient is created, which allows to associate the three entities with the know extent of trust of at least the weakest link in the chain.

Sending a message

  1. The Sender is associated to the Mail Storage Server via a Recipient-public registration.

    Recipient-public means, that at least the Recipient of a message has access to the Directory establishing the registration.

  2. The posted Message is associated to the Sender via a Mail Storage-public registration.
  3. Any notification message issued upon a Message is associated to the Mail Storage Server with a Notification Server-public registration.
  4. A notification delivery is associated to the Notify Server via a Recipient-public registration.

Reading a message

  1. A message collection order is associated to the Recipient via a Notify Server-public registration.
  2. Collection of a message is asociated to the Notfiy Server and to the Recipient via Mail Storage-public registrations.
  3. A message retrieval order is associate to the REcipient via a Notify Server-public registration.
  4. Retrieving a Message needs asociation to the Recipient via a Mail Storage-public registration.
  5. Scanning for messages needs asociation of the Recipient to the messages via a Mail Storage-public registration.
