“The purpose of a fake package is to trick dpkg and apt into believing that some package is installed” (Debian).

eqivs is a Debian package which allows to create fake packages easily.

We call them surrogates.

To get our surrogates clone the Darcs repository:

cd /opt
darcs clone https://at.magma-soft.at/darcs/equivs
