Default Email handling in Debian Gnu/Linux follows the traditional Unix-mbox delivery and sendmail style mail system interface. This does not anymore scale well with the different uses of Debian systems, administrators and users requirements and preferences.This proposal tries to depict a Policy which allows free choice of Email handling, and as a side-product better default configuration for all relevant software packages.
