Concepts
- There are no multipart messages, but each message is part of a (globally
unique) message thread.
- Each individual message has an identifier. The identifier contains
a poster-generated sequence number, and a server generated part which
makes it unique inside a thread.
- Message blocks formed by giving sequencial message identifiers to
messages inside a thread resemble traditional multipart Email messages.
--- not-essential to the conecpt --
- There are two kinds of messages: pointers to messages and 'real' messages.
A pointer always points to a real message and never to a pointer.
